Men at work!

“Men at work” is a 1990 movie – a nice one from Charlie Sheen. There is an Australian rock band as well that I’ve heard of, in the same name! But, this one is about and for those who really work hard to turn out the best around all of us!

For those who live or work in Bangalore, it’s an everyday sight of the long pending work going on for bringing up the Hosur Road flyover. Many of us usually grumble about the traffic jam due to this never ending work and the struggles we all have to go through on a typical day. But many of us do not recognize the efforts these workers put in to build up these structures.

While waiting for my bus to Kerala on a Friday afternoon I spotted a group working hard and struggling in the hot sun on top of a 30 foot tall pillar! Thought of sharing this with you all!

It's Christmas Time!

Christmas is one season that majority of the people across the globe celebrates in unison. What I like the most about this season is, it’s really colourful, lively, lot of good deals on shops and the time off from work!

I spent a good amount of time during this Christmas spell on shopping arenas in Bangalore. All places were well decorated and eye-catching. While spending some time with my family in Forum shopping complex, this pair of Christmas bells came to my interest.

Christmas bells – The sparkling pair of bells have been an important part of Christmas decoration. In early ages bells were used as a means to scare away evil spirits. These days, they mark the arrival of a new season of hope, prosperity and promise!

Good 'Morning'!

Those who are more 'visual' by nature (as per NLP) would surely agree that the word 'morning' dawns on them a picture of freshness filled with optimism drawn on an untainted canvas of Mother Nature. For many, it is felt more like waking up to a new life, leaving all those bad reminiscences behind. The first light of the day is often referred to as ‘ray of hope’ my many writers. Historians used to synonymize ‘the dawn of civilization’ with ‘the morning of the world’. Just like the birth of a baby, the ‘morning’ brings positive energy for all around us!

I was on a struggle to capture the first rays of a misty morning at Mysore and to appreciate how the nature embraced them!

Krishnagiri Rocks!

Krishnagiri is a district in Tamil Nadu, situated 2000ft above sea level, that is very famous for mangoes. But what I like at this place the most are the rocks en route Bangalore through NH-7 :) On a sunny day, with the blue background, its a quite good sight!

'Nadaswaram'

Nadaswaram is one of the most popular instruments used for Hindu marriages and temples in south India primarily because of its auspicious aura. It is said to be the loudest non-brass acoustic (wind) instrument. The instrument is played in similar ways as the flute, but has additional holes at the bottom for better control. This is an instrument which requires exceptional breath control as it plays an important role in generating the right tones from the instrument. I captured this snapshot during a south indian Hindu marriage, where a group of experts were playing the traditional 'melam' during the auspicious 'muhoortham'.

A Friday evening at Bangalore

I must say, Bangalore is a great city to live in, provided, there is better control of traffic and pollution. I love this city for its dynamic and vibrant life style, being a happening place on earth, endless opportunities for ‘the skilled’ and being a traditional city left with so much to explore for expatriates. Have a look at this evening shot - the sun looks tired of the pollution below? Or was that the smoke that covered the sun?

F1 fever in Bangalore!

Vijay Mallya, the Indian business tycoon has made another big leap to the F1 arena with the Spiker deal. Infosys recently set its stage for Kingfisher’s promotional campaign at its electronics city campus. Even though it was difficult to capture the scene from the clique, we somehow managed to get these! First time, so near to an F1 car that participated (? :)) in last year’s race.
